For the last twenty-three years, Ellen has practiced solely in the area of family law.  In 2011, she expanded her legal practice to include mediation services and now focuses solely on mediation.  Ellen is drawn to family law because it affords her the opportunity to positively affect families in crisis – in particular, the ability to mitigate conflict, which ultimately protects children.

Ellen evolved into a highly skilled and sought after family law mediator after completing specialized mediation training. Ellen has conducted hundreds of successful family law mediations and is particularly adept at helping unrepresented parties navigate the dissolution process from start to finish.  She takes great pride in her ability to keep divorcing and separating couples out of court.

Ellen is a licensed attorney in the state of Colorado and a member of the Colorado and Arapahoe Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the CBA. Ellen has been recognized for her extensive pro bono work by Metro Volunteer Lawyers. She has served as editor of several publications on domestic law issues published by the Colorado Bar Association Law Education Committee. Ellen has also served for multiple terms as an elected Officer on the Executive Council of the Colorado Bar Association’s Family Law Section and as a Board Member of the Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee.  A career highlight was her work as the attorney mediator at The Center for Out of Court Divorce, a non-profit spearheaded by retired Colorado Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Love Kourlis.
